Most of our rooms have spectacular views of the famous St. Ives Harbour. An artists haven for over 100 years.
The Regent, run by Keith and Sandi Varnals, is a small comfortable hotel in the centre of town, enjoying spectacular views over St. Ives Bay and harbour. All our bedrooms have colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, radio alarm clocks, hairdryers and most rooms enjoy a view.
The Regent, a former sea captains house, was converted to a hotel in 1926 by the well known local Architect Frank Nicholls and has been running continuously as such ever since.
The hotel was the meeting place of St Ives Rotary Club until the commencement of hostilities. During the war the hotel was first of all the co-ordinating centre for the coastal gunnery around the Western Approaches. Later to be taken over by the American General Omar Bradley for his G.H.Q and over the door the sign read 134th U.S. Infantry and a large curved sign board over the main entrance door proclaimed "All Hell Can’t Stop Us".

After the war the hotel continued as a small family run hotel and ever since that time visitors have been enthralled by the views from most of the rooms in the building.
The Hotel has been in the Varnals family for some 30 years and has been tastefully modernised with all the double and twin rooms offering full en-suite facilities and of course the unique views that only the Regent Hotel can offer. We also offer town centre car parking space for every guest.
Cornwall is one of the largest counties in Britain and also the most southerly. Because of its proximity to the equator Cornwall enjoys Britain's best climate with warm, sunny springs and tropical summers. Mild autumns make the Cornish county the ideal environment for winter or late season holidays and breaks. Cornwall has a wonderfully diverse range of countryside to offer our visitors. From the beautiful golden sandy beaches such as the Riviere Towans or Hayles' famous 3 mile stretch to the world famous surf to be found all around our coast.
Inland we have 300 miles of coastal paths maintained by the National Trust and open to the public all year round, Cornwall's famous tin mines, and open moorland all connected by our rolling fields and country lanes. So what ever you're seeking, St Ives can fulfil your expectations, be it a seaside holiday, sunbathing and playing in the surf by day, enjoying our local restaurants and public houses by night. If you're a little more adventurous you can find some amazing diving off our coasts or try it for the first time through one of the many diving schools in the area. You can take a walking holiday and hike or ramble through our many coastal paths and footpaths or if you're a little more energetic you can get on your bike. You can fish to your heart's content, from the rocks, (be careful and take advice first) from the harbours and beaches or charter a boat for a day.
St Ives has much to offer those of you who enjoy shopping with Penzance and Truro a little further a field. St Ives also houses the St Ives Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth museum and has been a haven for artists, drawn by the beautiful Cornish scenery. We have a very romantic county with amazing sunsets and sunrises (if you want to get up early enough!) the ever restless seas, heathered moorlands and a myriad of cosy restaurants and pubs - so please consider coming to Cornwall for your honeymoon, unless of course you want to get married here as well!
The Varnals family look forward to meeting you should you choose to visit us here at The Regent St Ives.
